A ‘bee beard’ is a show where an individual allows the bees to build up on his/her face, creating something that resembles facial hair. It is a customary act in some cultures and can be seen as an indication of mastery over the art of keeping bees, also showing faith in their docility. Bees are normally attracted by beekeepers using pheromones or a queen be. Stings are avoided with protective clothing and bees removed carefully thereafter.
