Walk on both sides, seemingly between truth and falsehood.
Walk on both sides because once again, she’s in a fix with her reality.
Walk on both sides because the line between good and evil has become a blur.
She heard someone say there are no bad people.
Just people who do bad things.
Is it selfish that she uses this as a justification to live frivolously?
As she’s no longer aware of the principles I grew up with.
Her once vengeful conscience,
Now just a dulling ache.
Dead to all scruples she guarded judiciously.
I guess she can call herself now a free being.
She’s there but she isn’t there.
Walking on both sides of bad and just,
She’s just a good girl who’s trying not to get accustomed to doing bad things.
And maybe, it’s not so bad since she is truthful to her emotions.
She doesn’t live in self-denial.
She’s proud of her worth.
And maybe she would keep making mistakes, but she’s getting there.
Slowly, but surely.
