Billy tripped, fell, scraped his knee.

"Waaaaahhhh!" Billy cried,

"There, there. What happened to being strong?" Grandpa picked Billy up.

"It hurts, Grandpa."

Grandpa brushed away the tears. "It will hurt again, son. What matters, is how we respond."

Billy nodded, stifling his tears. He was a big boy now.
