The wise old owl is an old poem as we know it, and it is mostly used as a nursery rhyme. The words of this poem are inspiring and are filled with wisdom.

But I wonder why the author made use of an owl to describe the role of a wise old bird, maybe the owl posses the character of a wise bird.

The origin of the poem is not known, neither is the date. So I guess it is as old as anyone can think of. I see that the owl posses the habit of staring rather than making noise. Maybe they pay attention to details, I would not know.

But a true way to live is to listen more than you talk, paying attention to what is going on around you and what others are doing, saying. You get wiser this way, just like the old wise owl.
