The Scotland yard is the famous headquarters of the metropolitan police force, the territorial police force responsible for policing the 32 boroughs of London. Its name derives from the location of the original Metropolitan Police headquarters at 4 Whitehall Place, which also had an entrance on a street called Great Scotland Yard.
In actual fact, I am hearing about this for the first time, and it is interesting to know. The headquarters of a metropolitan police making a name for themselves, and well known throughout the world.
