The Vacation And The Spoilt Cheese

Amanda was actually looking forward to the two-week vacation, she had dreamt about it for months and now it's finally here. Excited, she created an itinerary of hangouts, relaxation centres and beaches, ... Oh yeah beaches, she screamed in utter joy, she had missed those so much. Oh how she had yearned for those precious moments on the sandy shores, lapping up Sunset, the bliss from just lying on her back, listening to the gentle waves crashing, her sun-kissed skin glistening in the Sun.

Then she remembered the beach house with all those coral decorations, the Ocean-scented candles and the musky perfume of the linens and towels. Then she smiled at her trail of thoughts, she was going away with her fiance, Mike, and her heart raced with anticipation. Sharing all these with the Love of her life, added an extra layer of excitement.

Mike had been an integral part of her life for so long and they were about taking their relationship to the next level. They just needed this vacation to get away from the busyness of the corporate world.

The rhythmic "pim pim pim" of Mike's car cut through her daydream quickly, bringing her back to Earth. Joy bubbled through her as she opened her door and rushed down the stairs, with her suitcase, into the waiting arms of her fiance.

It was a vacation with a treasure trove of shared memories, hand in hand beach walks, soaking up the Sun and the Moonlight, trying out new delicacies in the restaurants, swimming in the shallow side of the beach serenaded by waves, and reveling in each other's company. They had never had such a great time together.

Soon the vacation was over, filled with their moments of paradise and many souvenirs for their loved ones.

As she opened her door, they were greeted with an unpleasant odour. She quickly rushed to check the big refrigerator in the kitchen, everything seemed alright. She could not understand what emitted that foul smell until Mike discovered, that the stench originated from a package of cheese lying on the couch.

In her excitement in preparing for the vacation, she had forgotten to put the cheese, delivered that morning, into the refrigerator.

The End.
