The Nightfall: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

It was already getting late and Mr Hyde had not returned home. Dolly, the cat mewed hoping for the usual treat by her boss as she walked through the parlor. When she noticed his absence, She curled herself up longing for warmth when suddenly she heard a strange sound coming from the surrounding area. It was 11:00pm, Mr Hyde had still not returned, the street was calm except for the chirping of crickets. Dolly was already feeling bored when she decided to go to bed.

At 1:00Am , dogs in the neighboring houses started to bark followed by a strange whirring sound that seemed to find its way through the window where Dolly was lying. She stood with her eyes alerted but it became scarier as the door started to bang uncontrollably. Dolly knew it wasn't coming from her owner, she quickly ran into the room and hid herself in a brown shopping bag with her face outside hoping to see what was lurking her.

She sat there feeling both bored and scared as she pulled herself in each time the strange noises became louder. The whistling sound continued through the night making dolly unable to sleep even though it was sleepy. The day had dawn and dolly was still in the brown shopping bag, her eyes wide open afraid to come out. She sat there bored.

Mr Hyde returned that morning and was surprised to see Dolly, the cat looking dull. He patted the cat gently rubbing his palm on her head but she didn't respond in the usual manner.

"Something must be wrong with Dolly" he said, and made a decision to go see a vet.
