Flood: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

A village known as Ankara was surrounded by two rivers, which flowed southward. It was a small town sparsely populated, located in the mangrove forest. The inhabitants were majorly farmers and fishermen. Yearly they experiences a heavy rainfall that fills the river and it became a concern for the people of Ankara. Every year they build canals but the body of water seems to grow. It was barely a month after they moved out that the water broke out flooding the entire village. They had abandoned their crops hoping to come back for the harvest if the river didn't break out from it bank , but it seemed to go against their expectations. The entire farmlands were flooded, rising above the plants and the flood remained for a week.

The inhabitants of Ankara village though sad because their crops were destroyed, they were grateful to have moved out as advised by the mouthpiece of the gods, who served as a mediator between them and the gods. They moved eastward and settled in the plains near Bethel.

What I see on the picture

I see a land that has been flooded by water. Only a few branches of tall trees can be seen above the water.

What I feel

The place flooded Must have been a village situated around a river and it should be as a result of a heavy rainfall.
