A picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

A picture holds a message, it could be one, two, three, or a thousand messages depending on the people gazing at it.

The picture below shows a child who's probably 8-9 years old beside a window. Outside the window is a drizzling rain and the glass is covered with fog from the light rainfall. Shrubs and mountains could be seen from the wet glass from where the boy is sitting. The dark corner beside the boy shows it could be a room, probably his room. The boy doesn't look happy, I feel he's alone, away from friends and probably thinking about them.

Story

It was a cold evening while it was drizzling. John, a boy of 9 living at the outskirts of the town, sat beside the window and rested his head at the post. He was lost in thought, nothing mattered to him as he stared blankly from the other side of the window. It's been a week since he last saw his friend, the feeling of loneliness engulfed him and he wished he was with it. He remembered the first time he met with Stephen, it was raining that fateful day when Stephen offered him an umbrella stranded in the rain. He later realized they were nextdoor neighbors, and that's how their friendship started. They had to relocate after Stephen's dad got a new job in California.

Stephen's departure made him sad, all he could do to make himself feel relieved was to sit and watch the rain drizzle. He no longer had friends to speak or play with, he was back to his old life of staying indoors and reading comic books which he was bored of. He could only sit and wish that life was fair enough to bring Stephen back. He never forgot about Stephen each time it rains.
