Helen and John have been friends for years, they met at a shelter and share a love of reading, so every Sunday they meet in the park to share the newspaper, read the articles that interest them, then discuss them.

But this particular day Helen sees in the news how her ex-husband is arrested abroad, inside her many ambiguous emotions are mobilized; she feels happy that they have caught this scoundrel that after 40 years of marriage and with a fraudulent divorce, he kept everything and she with just a pension to survive, but inside her there is also sadness and compassion because for a long time, Helen felt that he was the love of her life with whom she wanted to grow old, she twisted her mouth as a sign of how ironic life can be.

On the other hand, John read with concern how New York City had been hit by the storm Ida, he looked with amazement at the flooding of the Big Apple, he remembered many of his homeless friends sleeping in the squares, in the streets, he thought, what happened to them, did some of them manage to survive, I guess I'll never know.
