Scales Of Life

In the scales of life, weigh heavy of heart,
Where every step we take, a burden we bear.
The weight of our dreams, the weight of our past,
A heavy load we carry, and never to part.

The world outside may be bright and light,
But within us, a storm rages through the night.
Our minds a maelstrom, our souls a sea,
Tossed by waves of sorrow, lost in misery.

We struggle to find our true weight,
To measure our worth, to know our fate.
But the scales of life, they never lie,
And in their balance, we must abide.

For in the end, it's not what we own,
But what we give, that makes our weight known.
And though life may be heavy, we'll find,
In the weight of love, our souls entwined.

Let our children not grow up in a terrible world. Together we can make it better. It is our destiny to
suffer from the past, to long for the future, but to forget the present.
