Mabel just knew she really love Jammie, it goes beyond his handsomeness or wealth, after all he owned no real asset to show he was wealthy except for his exotic car and a modest house but what she felt for him went deeper than mere tangible things.
She had met him at the night of the Dilver Ray Fund Raising for the needy and he had strung a string in her heart, though when he also noticed her and asked her for a dance, she feigned not interested at first but later on she had to oblige. But there was something not right about Jammie, he seems dodgy when she asked about his job and he also insist on handling his briefcase other than letting her ease it from his hands when he returned.
