The people of Odozi are a culture driven society. Every first Saturday of a new year they normally celebrate a feast called the feast of the maidens. During the said feast there are certain programmes of events that are lined up by the community to celebrate it. One of which is community work by the maidens wherein the young maidens do some farm work for the weak and elderly members of their community
During the feast of the maidens, it's climax is usually signifies by the maidens doing some roadshows. Thus, maidens usually dress in fine local attires and parade along their major streets, dancing and singing melodious songs to the admiration of all. Thereafter, they converge at their market square and perform some local dance, eat local delicacies, drink and disperse to their various homes.
This year's feast of the maidens fell on a working day. Don went to work and on his way back he met a crowd of the maidens on parade blocking the entire road. They were on procession. There was no way to get home. After waiting for a substantial time, he passively joined them in the dance and after a little while he was shown a detour through which he got home.
