Jude got admission into one of the prestigious institutions in the country to study the course of his choice... theater arts. He is not from a wealthy home. Thus, he managed to pay his school fees and other sundry levies but could not afford the accommodation fees. His parents told him that he can be attending lectures from home which is about ten kilometres away from the school. Jude had no other choice but to agree to the arrangement.
Now, every fresher must matriculate to be properly called and recognized as a student of the institution. Jude's matriculation was fixed on a Saturday to also commence by 9:00Am (local time) with all matriculants expected to be seated before the arrival of the Vice Chancellor and his entourage. That same day also turned out to be their market day! Vehicles are always loaded with traders and their wares. Jude who had made a special dress for the occasion does not want these traders to stain or even rumple his august attire. He had no option but to use one of the buses conveying these same traders to the market so as to get to his school for the matriculation.
On that fateful day, Jude boarded one of the buses and true to his fears it was well loaded with goods and people. It took the driver and the loaders over thirty minutes to arrange and tie up the goods in the bus. Time was fast ticking away. Jude felt agitated but held his cool. When the bus finally hit the road, it was moving at a snail's pace because it was heavily overloaded; it was moving at about 20km/h!
After about twenty minutes of driving, the bus broke down! Jude feared for the worst. But he and other male passengers managed to do a fast and dirty and were back on the road in fifteen minutes. But by that time, Jude was already late for the matriculation ceremony. He missed all the key and exciting parts of the event. He was however fortunate to still endorse his name on the matriculation register.
