It was a special day for Doris as she marked her 18th birthday. She was very happy to clock eighteen...a year seen by many as the stepping stone for independence for a teaneger.
Her colleagues in school informed her well ahead of time that it calls for celebration. Doris agreed and thought of what to arrange for the celebration of her eighteenth birthday. She consulted her mum to help her decide. Her mother thought for a while and said: "why not make a carrot cake for them"? Carrot cake?, she queried and her mum nodded in affirmation.
I believe they will like it because it is nutritious and having carrot as a natural sweetener is a no brainer! They both agreed and in a matter of days Doris mum backed a special carrot cake for her daughter.
Later on the D-Day most of Doris friends turned up for the occassion and were all served with the special birthday cake Doris mum had prepared. They all ate to their satisfaction.
