A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words: Mending Toys.

Original Contest Image

I see a disassembled toy, a teddy bear and two screwdrivers.

I feel that a workman is about to fix or mend a broken toy.

Mending Toys

Oh, Julia, what has happened here?
Those were meant to stay there!
But what have you done now dear?
I can't believe my eyes either.

I know you love them
I know how precious they are to you
I know what you now think
I know you have given up already.

Ah, my darling, your dad is here
Cheer up for all hope is not lost
Dry bones, they say
Shall rise again!!!

Get me my tools.
I know they are there and handy
Your dad is here to see to it
So keep a close eyes on that

Yeah, I have the screws.
I have my will and ideas intact
Your toys must work again
They ain't finished yet.

The first job is done.
Onward to the second part
The toys are coming together
Soon they'll be back to life.

Ah, the deal is done, Julia
So cheer up my darling
Rise up now and look closely
Your bundle of joy stares at you.

Give daddy a big hug!!!
Your playing tools are here again
All fixed and sturdy
To be toyed with once again.

I can see the joys on your face
I can feel the happiness too
Daddy is always ready to assist
To restore all that is almost gone
All to make you happy!!!
