5 Minutes Freewrite: Wednesday Prompt - Moving On

Source

It was a rainy day as Jane set out for Zenni, the state capital on an official assignment. She must make it to the corporate headquarters in time so as to participate in the board meeting scheduled to kick off by twelve noon.

As the bus Jane was travelling with kept speeding and moving on, she noticed that their lane was deserted by other motorists and that was really unusual because the expressway is usually busy on fridays because most people will be traveling to the hinterlands for festivities.

As their bus kept moving on, they ran into a roadblock which turned out to be robbers. Before their driver could even understand what was happening the robbers had deflated the tyres of the bus, leaving the driver handicapped. Soon the robbers pounced on the passengers, robbing everyone with reckless abandon.

Like a flash of light, the police arrived on the scene and blowing their sirens with little or no regard to other road users. They were actually escorting a top politician and coincidentally ran into the thieves. Both camps opened fire at each other.

But the police overpowered the robbers and they fled the bus. The passengers of the bus were traumatized by the experiment. They prayed not to experience such a robbery incident again in life.
