5 Minutes Freewrite: Tuesday Prompt - Native Food

Source

Knox and Jill are good friends in the university. During the new yam festival of the Gokana kingdom Knox invited his good friend Jill for the chieftaincy installation of his father as the "onwa na-agbara oha I".

On the day of the occasion, Jill came with his wife Nneka who is also an indigene of the Gokana kingdom. The said chieftaincy installation was a sort of cannival as many cultural dance groups and masquerades were on display.

Then came the main occasion...the chieftaincy installation. It was a colourful event and after the installation, many native foods were on display and the crowd were entertained by it. Jill and the wife went for the local beans dish garnished with fresh pepper, roasted meat and fish. There was also several kegs of fresh palamwine to gulp it down.

Jill and the wife enjoyed the occasion and as the day wears down they thanked their host and took their leave back to the city.
