Pa Friday clocks 90! Hurray!!! That was the shouts and exclamation of appreciation from his children and grandchildren on this auspicious occasion. Pa Friday has been blessed with long life so to say compared with his contemporaries and also in view of the high spate of deaths prevalent in the society.
His children and grandchildren has lined up series of activities to mark this occasion. The first is a sing song hour wherein they sang to the Almighty God for keeping and preserving his life till date.
Thereafter, they read out in turns their birthday wishes for him which he acknowledges with smart noddings and broad smiles. He was also flanked by his lovely wife, Rosslyn.
Then comes the high point of the event...the cutting of the birthday cake. It was the idea of the children to bake a carrot cake for the birthday of their grandpa and same being seasoned with natural sweeteners such as carrot. Pa Friday loved the idea and after the cutting of the cake he also ate substantial part of it to the admiration of all.
