The campaigns were vigorous with all the contestants campaigning for the sole position of Mayor. Their targets were the newly registered voters who probably do not know much about voting. They cashed in on that.
But for the elderly and seasoned voters, they're not easily swayed by their numerous promises of "elect me, I know where it pinches" of a campaign. They can tell from afar what a person or candidate posses.
Those ones, to win them over requires a lot of tact and guile. But they constitute the bulk of voters and come what may, you'll always encounter them.
