Побудована вона була у 1894 році з нагоди закінчення будівництва складної дороги, що з'єднує Бахчисарай та Ялту. Тоді цей шлях мав в першу чергу військове значення. Витіюватість серпантину також пояснюється необхідністю підйому по дорозі однієї кінської сили. З цією метою нахил траси не повинен був перевищувати 15 градусів.
It was built in 1894 on the occasion of the completion of the complex road connecting Bakhchisarai and Yalta. Then this path was primarily of military importance. The ornateness of the serpentine is also explained by the need to lift one horsepower along the way. For this purpose, the slope of the route should not exceed 15 degrees.
Власне, альтанка була створена вже після приймання дороги, як пам'ятний знак. Місце будівництва було обрано не випадково. Звідси, з висоти 865 метрів над рівнем моря, відкривається запаморочливий вид на саму Ялту, всю затоку і навколишні гори. Вершина, на якій розташована Срібна альтанка називається Пендикюль, і відразу за спорудою починається різке провалля.
Actually, the gazebo was created after the acceptance of the road as a memorial. The construction site was chosen not by chance. From here, from a height of 865 meters above sea level, there is a stunning view of Yalta, the whole bay and the surrounding mountains. The top on which the Silver Gazebo is located is called Pendikul, and immediately after the building begins a sharp abyss.

Свою назву альтанка отримала через те, що під час холодів, з пізньої осені до ранньої весни, вона покривається інієм. Якщо дивитися на неї з Ялти, а видно її дуже добре, здається, що альтанка побудована із срібла. Навіть влітку, альтанку чітко видно, мені здається, що спостерігав ч її навіть з Масандри.
The gazebo got its name because during the cold, from late autumn to early spring, it is covered with hoarfrost. If you look at it from Yalta, and you can see it very well, it seems that the gazebo is built of silver. Even in summer, the gazebo is clearly visible, it seems to me that I watched it even from Massandra.
