Javelin Thrower - Splinterlands Social Media Challenge

Hey Splinterlands fans and everyone else!

Good evening or good morning, depending on where you are! I want to share my post and entry for the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge For this occasion, I took inspiration from a card that's a bit old but still interesting! The price isn't too bad, quite affordable.

I was working on a more elaborate character, but we had a power outage all afternoon, so I couldn't pursue that idea. I saved it for later and started something new that I had in mind while waiting for the electricity to come back. It's a closer portrait with some details.

I made a video for this, like always buy as I would post on Twitter, I decided to edit the video and share it. You can check out the speedpaint here.

I hope it's not too fast, I had to edit it twice since it was too long the first time. Seems like that was a bit of a bad idea; it took me longer than it should have, and here I am, all nighter๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ.

Her Lore:

Javelin Thrower

RARE Earth Unit

The Javelin Throwers are an especially savage small tribe of female warriors who live in the Giant Grasslands of Primordia. Well known for wearing suits made from the skins of reptiles they kill, these wild women are rarely seen in any settlement or city.

While there was no electricity, I came up with the idea. Sooo as soon as I could be on the PC what I did was create some lines to emulate what I had done in my sketchbook. That was pretty quick as I didn't have much time to detail the lines.

-.-

With a bit of gray, I added some values but I didn't go into much detail at this stage because I just wanted an idea of where I would place some lights and shadows!๐Ÿคซ

-.-

The lines lasted for quite some time. I left them for a while on an upper layer, but it didn't bother me because it was relatively opaque. However, if I had detailed things more, it wouldn't have been necessary to keep them there, so I collapsed everything and gradually it faded away.

-.-

I made some small adjustments to what I was doing. Although the character has a similar suit I didn't fully follow it because it would be a faithful representation of the reference I used, but with just a few small differences. Btw the snake still didn't have much form hmmmm it was a bit strange.

-.-

I chose to give her a less warrior like expression! As I progressed I became a bit happier with the face. Generally I don't create such a bright background compared to the character or portrait, but it's good to do something different to learn new things.

-.-

After being content enough with the face, I set out to fix the snake. I detailed a few things, added some snake skin texture and improved the shape. I added some other details, and it wasn't missing much.

-.-

Finishing up this portrait, I had a few more things to tackle โ€“ sorting out the hair, tossing in some hoop earrings, adjusting the lighting and adding a touch of texture and done!

Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work.
