It appears there was a ton of work you put into this.! I wish I had your patience.
But I can relate - for me to stick with a project, there have to be unexpected surprises, sort of a trip into the blue. In a way it is like in quantum mechanics - with every step there are a myriad of possibilities and choices, parallel outcomes with slight variations, but the further you go the further it is removed from the original input.
