Life Vs. Death
The tiny canoes that travel down the girl’s face are paintings by the Italian Surrealist painter Leonor Fini. In the left canoe is a self-portrait by Leonor Fini and in the right canoe is The Angel of Anatomy painting also by her. The self-portrait represents life and the skeleton in the painting on the right symbolizes death.
Hardships tends to leave an ugly stain on our souls. Bitterness which arises as a result of a lifetime of disappointments, heartaches, pain, hardships and loss often results in a comfortable bitterness that settles in during old age. My struggles with a bitter heart inspired this work. But the truth is that love is a much more powerful force than darkness. For it is love that fills up the dark souls of the suffering, and jumps from heart to heart. Darkness tends to shrink our souls.
But just knowing that love is more powerful than bitterness doesn’t mean that change can happen. Some of us are just too broken to fix.
I minted this late last night and woke up today to write a blog post about this, and then I noticed that Moderats has purchased it for 2 ETH. I am super happy about this because I had a huge car issue yesterday and had to pay $1200 to get my car fixed. This pretty much wiped out all my recent art sales.
Thank you to Moderats who just purchased this! I am so happy that this art is going to this collector. Moderats has done so much for the cryptoart world.
I didn't blog on Hive for a while for two reasons:
- My cryptoart career is taking off.
- I spend about 12 hours per day painting now.
- I am on the social media team of WOCA, Women of Crypto Art.
- I'm doing tons of artist collaborations
- I had tech issues when I last tried to use Hive.
But, I am going to try my best to blog regularly again, since the tech issues on Hive that I experienced earlier seem to be resolved.
