“Back to Werk…” by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

Next week, the college where I am employed is back in session, so today was a TRAINING DAY. (I’ve worked for the writing center at this school, off and on, since 2005… Damn…) Things are DIFFERENT this semester, for some reason, but luckily, I will be working from home (helping students with papers over email and Zoom.) Helps keep my brain in shape---even as my body continues to transform into Jello…

Because I’ve done this training a few times (like more than ten), I sometimes drift off while the new folks chew on the concepts, and I do a bit of doodling. I’m still keeping an ear on the proceedings, but…well…you know me… After the training was over, and I drove back to Longview from Vancouver, I had a few minutes before Mariah got off work (we only have one car, so I just parked at the eye clinic where she works), to do some digital manipulation on my notebook sketches from today. Here are the pieces that I finished:

“Party Snake”

I have several other little doodles that need to be “completed” from today’s training, and there’s another training day tomorrow. Who knows what sorts of shenanigans I’ll come up with in the next couple of days… (Certainly not me.) Sorry if my WRITTEN production is a little low key over the next few days. I’m most likely hanging with my granddaughter on Thursday, so it might be FRIDAY before I get a chance to work on another THICK post… I’ll try to write some little post---a clever or pithy chunk of words---with a bit of artwork… (I’m going to be drawing, for sure, because I ALWAYS draw, but putting together a post takes a bit of PRODUCTION. I also hope I get a chance to work with my new manual typewriter VERY soon! Maybe Friday? Oh, and Saturday is Squirrel Fest, a wacky local event (basically a reason to have a BEER GARDEN.) Mariah and I might stop by for a little and see what’s happening!

Thanks for stopping by for a few minutes! I won’t keep you! Go do something interesting!!!
