Hello everyone! I'm Lorentm, a digital artist passionate about exploring fantastic worlds through my art. Today I want to share with you a very special artwork I made, inspired by one of my favorite characters of all times: Daenerys Targaryen, the incomparable "Mother of Dragons".
A few days ago, I finished watching "The Dragon House" and, like many of you, I was left with that empty feeling that only a good series can leave. So, to fill that void, I decided to embark on a "Game of Thrones" marathon for the third time-yes, I can't get enough! As I re-watched Daenerys' epic journey, I felt so connected to her story that I knew I had to dedicate my next fan art to her.
This fan art of Daenerys Targaryen reimagines her in an anime style, keeping her iconic long blonde hair adorned with intricate braids that reflect her majesty. The background evokes a sky in transition, with warm golden tones fading into soft violets, as if capturing that magical moment of sunrise or sunset. In the distance, you can see the silhouettes of her three dragons and the towers of a castle, small details that encapsulate her epic narrative in "Game of Thrones."
I wanted to capture the essence of Daenerys: her power, her determination and her unwavering will to reclaim what is hers. By fusing the aesthetics of the anime with the signature elements of her story, I believe I have achieved an homage that, while different, remains true to the regal strength of this character I admire so much.

Hace unos días, terminé de ver "La Casa del Dragón" y, como muchos de ustedes, me quedé con esa sensación de vacío que solo una buena serie puede dejar. Así que, para llenar ese vacío, decidí embarcarme en un maratón de "Juego de Tronos" por tercera vez—sí, ¡no me canso! Mientras veía nuevamente el épico viaje de Daenerys, me sentí tan conectada con su historia que supe que tenía que dedicarle mi próximo fan art.
Este fan art de Daenerys Targaryen la reimagina en un estilo anime, manteniendo su icónico cabello largo y rubio, adornado con intrincadas trenzas que reflejan su majestad. El fondo evoca un cielo en transición, con cálidos tonos dorados que se desvanecen en suaves violetas, como si capturara ese momento mágico del amanecer o el atardecer. En la distancia, se pueden ver las siluetas de sus tres dragones y las torres de un castillo, pequeños detalles que encapsulan su épica narrativa en "Game of Thrones".

Reimagined in a vibrant anime style, Daenerys is not only the "Mother of Dragons," but also a warrior with an indomitable heart. Her golden hair, neatly braided, shimmers under the dawn sky, while her dragons soar through the skies, guarding her kingdom. The towers of her castle rise majestically on the horizon, symbolizing her struggle and determination to reclaim the throne that is rightfully hers. In this version, Daenerys is not only a queen, but a living legend, whose story inspires generations to follow their dreams and fight for what is right.

Process / Proceso
In creating this fan art of Daenerys Targaryen, each stage of the process was an opportunity to bring to life my vision of the "Mother of Dragons" in anime style. It all started with a sketch in which I let my first ideas flow. In this initial phase, I focused on capturing the essence of Daenerys, drawing light lines to outline her figure and her iconic long blonde hair. The braids, a symbol of her strength and character, also took shape at this point, albeit in a subtle and loose manner, allowing me to adjust details as I went along.
Once the sketch was well defined, I moved on to the outlining stage, where I consolidated the shapes and lines of the drawing. This is where the character really began to come to life. I used firmer, more confident strokes to define the contours and details, making sure that every braid in her hair and every facial feature reflected her regal presence. This step is crucial in establishing the solid foundation of the drawing, as any details that need to be highlighted or softened are fine-tuned during the outlining.
With the lines clear and precise, it was time for coloring. This is where the magic really begins. I started by selecting a color palette that reflected both the intensity of the character and the environment in which I imagined him. Her glowing golden hair, the warm tones of the sky surrounding her, and the soft violet hues suggesting a transitional moment between day and night. When applying color, I made sure that each area complemented the other, creating a visual harmony that kept the focus on Daenerys, but didn't neglect the background elements.
Applying shadows and highlights was the next step, and one of the most exciting. This is the moment when the drawing really takes on depth and dimension. The shadows were carefully placed to accentuate Daenerys' facial structure and to give volume to her braided hair. In addition, I was careful to use shading to suggest the texture of the fabrics and the softness of her skin, without losing the subtle aggressiveness that characterizes her. The shimmers, on the other hand, added that final touch that makes the character look almost real. I used light sparkles in her hair and in the reflections of the sky, giving the impression of a glow surrounding the "Mother of Dragons".
Each of these stages was another step on the way to creating a unique version of Daenerys Targaryen, one that blends the majesty of the character with the stylized and vibrant aesthetic of the anime. The whole process was like a journey in itself, one that I enjoyed immensely, and one that I hope is reflected in the final result.
Al crear este fan art de Daenerys Targaryen, cada etapa del proceso fue una oportunidad para dar vida a mi visión de la “Madre de Dragones” en estilo anime. Todo comenzó con un boceto en el que dejé fluir mis primeras ideas. En esta fase inicial, me enfoqué en capturar la esencia de Daenerys, trazando líneas ligeras para delinear su figura y su icónico cabello largo y rubio. Las trenzas, símbolo de su fuerza y carácter, también tomaron forma en este punto, aunque de manera sutil y suelta, permitiéndome ajustar detalles conforme avanzaba.
Una vez que el boceto estaba bien definido, pasé a la etapa de delineado, donde consolidé las formas y líneas del dibujo. Aquí es donde el personaje realmente comenzó a tomar vida. Utilicé trazos más firmes y seguros para definir los contornos y detalles, asegurándome de que cada trenza en su cabello y cada rasgo facial reflejara su regia presencia. Este paso es crucial para establecer la base sólida del dibujo, ya que cualquier detalle que necesite ser resaltado o suavizado se afina durante el delineado.
Con las líneas claras y precisas, llegó el momento del coloreado. Aquí es donde la magia realmente comienza. Empecé seleccionando una paleta de colores que reflejara tanto la intensidad del personaje como el ambiente en el que lo imaginé. Su cabello dorado resplandeciente, los tonos cálidos del cielo que la rodean, y los suaves matices violetas que sugieren un momento de transición entre el día y la noche. Al aplicar el color, me aseguré de que cada área complementara a la otra, creando una armonía visual que mantuviera el enfoque en Daenerys, pero sin dejar de lado los elementos del fondo.
Aplicar sombras y brillos fue el siguiente paso, y uno de los más emocionantes. Este es el momento en el que el dibujo realmente cobra profundidad y dimensión. Las sombras fueron cuidadosamente colocadas para acentuar la estructura facial de Daenerys y para dar volumen a su cabello trenzado. Además, me esmeré en utilizar el sombreado para sugerir la textura de las telas y la suavidad de su piel, sin perder la sutil agresividad que la caracteriza. Los brillos, por otro lado, añadieron ese toque final que hace que el personaje parezca casi real. Utilicé ligeros destellos en su cabello y en los reflejos del cielo, dando la impresión de un resplandor que rodea a la “Madre de Dragones”.
Cada una de estas etapas fue un paso más en el camino hacia la creación de una versión única de Daenerys Targaryen, una que mezcla la majestuosidad del personaje con la estética estilizada y vibrante del anime. El proceso completo fue como un viaje en sí mismo, uno que disfruté inmensamente, y que espero se refleje en el resultado final.
