In response to the Alien Art Hive Community's Inktober Prompts that were part of their Cosmic Creations Edition #6 Contest, Cosmic Creations Edition #6 is LIVE: INKTOBER PROMPTS, members were encouraged to choose a prompt theme from the Inktober Prompts list for their entry into the contest.
After my entry into the contest with Prompt #17 - DEMON which I published on 9/23, I decided to take the Inktober concept one step further. I will focus on the remaining 30 Prompts on the list, beginning with Prompt #1. How fun the themes will be preparing my projects utilizing the mixed media art themes. If a Drabble story (100 words) or other flash fiction emerges, then all the more fun!
Below is my project for Inktober Prompt #4:
There was nothing in Victoria's eyes; nothing in her stance; and nothing in her appearance that betrayed her suffering. But she couldn't wait any longer. She stared at Connor, longing for an explanation. One that was plausible, palatable and would alleviate the doubts. But nothing could counteract the truth. The proof presented to her was undeniable.
Pulling the documents upon the envelope, she tossed them in his direction, landing at his feet.
"Why he drama? I have better things to do with my time than waste on your antics."
"Those papers prove you were the informer falsely accusing me of swindling your wife out of your life savings and responsible for your failed marriage. I was under the impression this past several months while being involved with me that you were single."
Connor stared at her, cutting a razor smile. Grabbing his coat, without a word, he was gone.
The vibration from the door slapped Victoria as she stood in the entryway. The smell of his cologne lingered on, reminding her of the intoxicating hold that held her hostage.
It was ended.
She sighed. A long, weary pause staved off the volcano erupting deep within. Before the deluge could roll down uncontrollably, the phone rang.
Several minutes later, she dropped the phone, turned and swirled, hugging herself to contain the hurt. Her eyes swelled with tears as she lowered her head.
Her company had filed charges against her.
Immediately, she phoned Rolando. Thirty minutes later, he sat holding her. "Don't waste any more of your thoughts or your love on that scum."
A hard punch squeezed her chest, almost bending her over. Holding her ribcage, she let go and sank to the floor wishing the ground would envelope her and bury her love.
She no longer desired any part of love or romantic relationships. She wouldn't need it where she was headed if she couldn't disprove the charges. Why would Connor betray her trust and love?
Tired of attempting to filter through the truth these past few months, she realized that he would dodge the tough questions at every corner. His "breadcrumb" type of love was exhausting.
Victoria also realized it was only a cover for his own wrongdoings.
But she would survive.
As pain flowed through her body with a wrinkle in her heart, she could only describe it as best she could to Rolando with thoughts of the soulful songstress, Laura Vane with her group, The Vipertones:
My approach to this Inktober Prompt #4 - Dodge materialized as I listened to the song above. To me, to "dodge" is to avoid a difficult situation headed your way full steam with you being unable to stop it. Immediately, I located several fractals I felt would blend well with a female in distress.
Two beautiful fractals I felt would work well with the scene are below.
For the female, I located an unusual photo that spoke to me of sadness. I love the forlorn look of the woman with flowers surrounding her face. Although sad, the photo spoke to me of a hopefulness. All that was needed was embellishments on her face:

To blend the images and create my mixed media project, I utilize Canva as my design tool. The pro features include image background removal, colorizing, resizing, filtering, image manipulation, and repositioning. Also included in my subscription is the use of various templates and elements for my designs.
Below are my procedures. I started with a blank, white canvas.
