The Face Of An Angel ~ By BDMiller
Today I am going to try something new.. I am going to post a piece of art that is way out of my comfort zone.
I was playing around with a simple design yet moving I think. I created a drawing by hand a long time ago. It was an oil on paper peace. I transferred that image into an AI modification program and added some touches to it afterwards with Sketchbook. Then, I separated more or less the face from the drawing and applied it to this photo of a stone angel, through an entirely different program.
The end product is sort of freaky, and that's why I think it may get the most respect and appreciation here in this community.. Alien Art Hive!
Even though the face looks somewhat evil, it is not the case at all. It is a human face coming out in an angel made of stone. Its a colorless angel with a highly decorated and colorful face. If the stone would all fall away, we would be blinded by the design and color of this angel.
He/she is an angel with tears streaming down his/her face, shed for humanity in the name of LOVE. An otherwise colorless angel on the outside, is flourishing with color, joy and love on the interior.
The tears are tears of joy, not those of sorrow. The bright pink eyes represent loves burning flame on the interior.
I’m not sure I’m completely done with this piece yet, so any criticism or suggestions would be awesome! I’m trying to blend the edges of the face a little bit better, but I also like the fact that it’s sort of roughly placed. I don’t typically do these types of art designs, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.
Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.
For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.
