Hola comunidad!

Hello community! Today I want to present my entry to this week's @Splinterlands contest, during the last three days I have been working on this and I really liked the result, I feel that it is one of the most beautiful cards that I have had the pleasure of drawing, really I liked it a lot the first time I saw it but I was afraid to do it because I saw so many details and the truth was I felt that it would look bad if i drawing it, however, this week I made my sketch inspired by this card and little by little I built the character.
I wanted to keep several elements of the card, but I liked the idea of changing the costume a bit and making one of her hands being surrounded by branches, with a forest background and long hair surrounding her back.
I read a bit the Lore of this card and I really liked the story, it's a little sad and at the same time it shows a lot of courage, I was inspired by this part of the story where she is flogged for defending her own, two elves, on the one hand, You can see how her clothes are torn due to the mistreatment by her enemies, I wanted to paint her more attractive than the original and I also painted her mecchanical arm which was a consequence of her battle wounds. She is an elf who just to seeing her, reflects magic and nature, who is willing to give everything to defend the forest and her own.
Florre pulled up short and chanted a spell. Before she could finish, the loud crack of a whip resounded. A fiery pain tore into her back. She cried out and stumbled sideways. Her legs gave out. She fell. Her right hand hit the forest floor, but her left—her left sank into the boiling slur of an igneous mudpot.

I started my sketch, I wanted to make her beautiful and with a pose that would highlight her silhouette, so I started drawing her body and face, then I added some details by painting her arm, hair and clothes, I usually draw clothes and I'm not completely convinced, I end up making many sketches but this time it was different, from the first moment I loved making this ripped dress, it was an idea that combined quite well with the paragraph that I read of her story, once the sketch was ready I began to paint her skin, I used warm tones and in a new layer I began to mix these tones shaping my carácter skin, normally I usually add many tones but this time I didn't do it like that, I realized that if I want to make a full body character I don't need as many tones as I usually do in portraits, so I worked with brown and beige tones but very limited to the ones I normally use, that made a pretty good change for my drawing, without giving so much detail the skin was quite soft go and uniform.
After painting her skin, I began to add base colors to her hair, clothes and mechanical arm, and then detailing each of these elements in new layers, the hair was really easy, I tried to make sparkles with a lighter purple and creating some spikes, it worked quite well, it gave it the texture I was looking for, on the clothes I added some lights and shadows to make folds in the fabric, the most difficult thing was the mechanical arm, I think I spends hours there, I had to paint the hand differently from the sketch because when I painted it completely I realized that it looked deformed haha, I finally managed to do my best and started painting the bird.
I made the bird without changing the original since I liked it a lot, it seemed beautiful to me and I didn't want to make it different, I applied the colors similar to the original card but a little less saturated, then I began to paint the branches that surround her arm and some parts of the body, for the background I chose a forest and decided to paint a yellow light behind the bird to give it a more magical touch, in a new layer apply some sparkles of light in certain parts of her face and body.
I really liked the tonality that I gave to the background so I adapted my character to the background light to create a composition that made more sense, I drew some lights on the edges of her face, body and clothes to simulate the rays of the sun that came from behind, I also painted some branches in front covering her other arm which I wanted to make it look as if it were combined with nature, surrounded by branches until it touched the grass, finally I applied more depth and lights to finish my drawing.
I hope you liked it, it was a long but satisfying process, I felt quite inspired by this card 💜💜💜
