If Basquiat made African masks, how would they look like? Will artists be automated out?
Thanks to @lavista I tried Midjourney yesterday. It's fantastic! Much easy to use than Disco Diffusion, but has some flaws.
It's more expensive (but much faster also, ~1-3 min per image). You can only use it in their discord, so everyone can read your prompts and see your process. But it next level compare to DD and it so addictive!
I want to try many ideas, refine them for longer time periods. But GPU time is not free. I already spent 25$ in first day so I need to calm down. It's like half of a month google colab pro+ subscription which I never had.
It's again rise a question will artists be automated out. And it's harder to say no. But it's also just a tool that we can use artistically like no one can. You can find prompts that produce image in your style, your color palette. You can put in prompt artists that no one know, mash up them with their ancestors,
rivals and 3d render engines. So, keep your prompts secret.
(Also it's more like curation work. You can decide how show works, order, size and so on. Ironically, your curation work will be curating by ai when you upload it in social media.)
I like how in last video from Vox shared yesterday by @kaliyuga, Mario Klingemann said: "Prompts like magic, you have to know right words for the spell".
So, open prompting is questinable. But also it's not a big deal since MJ discord is overwhelmed and no one really pays attention to my weird tasted prompts. Everyone too curious to have their own dialog with ai.
