Let's Talk About MAJOR ANIME SERIES~!!! [Season 2 of 6]

Heya fellow otaku(s)!!!
It's Shei again... and today I'm going to share the second part of my Major Series review. If you miss my review for the first season, you may check it out on the link below.

Just a short recap of Season 1 ending

In the end part of season 1, Gorou, the main character, has to leave his Little League team because his new father is assigned to play baseball in Fukuoka. His whole family had to move out of Kanagawa and he had no choice.

Following season 1, there's a movie called "Major Movie: Yuujou no Winning Shot" which tells about his life in Fukuoka. This movie came first before season two, but I haven't watched this movie... Anyway, even without watching the movie, we can guess what happened and continue watching the second season with no problem. :)

Let's Start With MAJOR Season 2!!!!

  • THE STORY

The second season focuses on two different arcs. One is from their middle school arc and the other is an introduction to their high school arc. It's great in a way that the main character Goro, despite all the hardships like busting his right shoulder, he continued to move forward.

Another thing I like about the story of this particular season is how it focused Gorou's relationship with the people around him like his teammates, rivals and even a start of a blossoming love life? lol

One thing though, even though the episodes were exciting at some point, it doesn't really have a main event aside from facing Toshi (Gorou's childhood friend) and his team. This season is somewhat a preparation for what's about to happen in the third season. ^^

  • THE CHARACTERS

Since there are two main arcs in this season, a lot of characters were introduced. Of course, there were his teammates from Mifune East and also entrants for Kaido high school and a lot more.

However, I like the fact that Toshiya and Gorou's relationship was focused in this season. Toshiya or Toshi was Gorou's first friend who he played catch ball with. He also influenced Toshi to play the sport when they were young.

In this season, Toshi somewhat played a big role in Gorou's decisions which made Toshi one of the biggest characters in this season.

In addition, I like the characters introduced in the Kaido entrance exam, the people in the Dream Island and also the regulars at Kaido. I like how different every character is. Although they were mostly students and are into baseball, somehow, you can distinguish their individual characteristics.

  • THE ART STYLE

Well, the art style is pretty similar to that of the first season. It's just interesting to see how a character changes from his elementary years to junior high school and finally in high school. It's fun to see the changes.

The characters with major roles are prettily drawn, but those of minor roles can be a bit creepy like their teeth or their eyes... but still interesting to see. haha

All in all, I still like the art style especially the main characters. <3

MAJOR S2 soundtrack also didn't fail to amaze me. I also really love the first opening. It's so catchy that I never skip it! Same goes for both the ending songs.

It's funny how mama enjoys Wonderland (first ending song) while I like Shoboi Kao Sunnayo Baby (second ending song). The former is kind of a love song type... typical slow melody ending song... but the latter was so catchy that makes you want to dance. haha

I just love MAJOR Series soundtrack!!! <3

All in all, season two was pretty good. It helped build up the tension that people would really anticipate the things that would happen in season three. I must say it's also a bit of a cliffhanger, but the third season started half a year after the end of this season.

Anyway, it's all better now since you can watch every season in one go. You can even binge watch it for like a week or so. haha

I'll end this review here and do look forward for my season three review soon!

Thanks for checking this out. Jaa ne~!!!!
