It is curious to note that this is a Korean work created by SIU, which has the format that is known in that country, that of the Manhwas. Tower of God comes out in 2010 and is currently on air, 10 years of pure work and it seems that it still doesn't want to end. We'll do a little analysis of the manhwa, compare it with its adaptation and obviously give our opinion. Why do I speak in the plural? I don't know.

Hoy les vengo a hablar de un título al cual le sigo la pista desde hace muchos años, y aún al día de hoy no termina, recuerdo haberlo leído aproximadamente cuando tenía 14 años, algo que me sorprendió fue el anuncio de que iba a ser adaptado al anime de parte de Crunchyroll en lo que sería su nueva sección de Originals, animes creados 100% por ellos. Curioso es el hecho que esta es una obra coreana creada por SIU, que tiene el formato archiconocido en aquél país, el de los Manhwas. Tower of God sale en 2010 y actualmente se encuentra en emisión, 10 años de puro laburo y parece aún no querer terminar. Haremos un pequeño análisis del manhwa, le compararemos con su adaptación y obviamente daremos nuestra opinión. ¿Por qué hablo en plural? No lo sé.

As the plot progresses, we will be introduced to various characters who, despite having their own interests, will not hesitate to team up with our protagonist Baam in order to survive, because it is easier to climb the tower in company than going completely alone.
Tower of God nos narra la historia de Rachel, una chica que busca cumplir su deseo de poder ver las estrellas, y nos narra la historia también de Baam, un chico que cuyo único deseo es estar siempre al lado de Rachel. Éstos dos se verán envueltos en la laboriosa tarea de subir la Torre de Dios para cumplir sus deseos, ya que según se cuenta en la cima de dicha torre podrás obtener todo lo que tú quieras, cualquier cosa que desees es posible. Para subir de piso en la torre tendrán que superar pruebas, dando por hecho que llegar al final no será una tarea fácil, hay pruebas de supervivencia, pruebas de ingenio, pruebas competitivas y muchas más. Al ir avanzando la trama se nos irán presentando diversos personajes que a pesar de tener sus propios intereses no dudarán en forman equipo con nuestro protagonista Baam para poder sobrevivir, porque es más fácil subir la torre en compañía que yendo completamente solo.

Esta es una pregunta que cualquier persona que esté viendo o leyendo esta obra debe hacerse, para así comprender el comportamiento egoísta y avaricioso de ciertos personajes, personajes que a sangre fría son capaces de traicionar a la gente que de verdad los quiere con tal de ver cumplido su cometido. En el camino a la cima de la torre, nos encontramos diversos casos algunos peores que otros, que nos causarán mucha frustración y enojo, aunque también nos encontramos con muchos momentos bien planteados de amistad y hermandad, de personajes que al principio se querían matar y se llevaban mal a pasar a ser casi como familia, ayudándose unos a otros para que todos puedan alcanzar su preciado deseo. Así que te vuelvo a preguntar, ¿eres capaz de traicionar a la persona que más te quiere en el mundo por tus caprichos? Yo sinceramente no podría ser tan egoísta.
The cast of characters contained in Tower of God is quite extensive, too extensive. El elenco de personajes que contiene Tower of God es bastante extenso, demasiado extenso. Algunos comparan este título con One Piece (además de la extensa cantidad de capítulos), ambas obras tiene un catálogo bien extenso de personajes, todos con su propia historia, su pasado, todos muy bien estructurados, caracterizados y cada uno elementales para la narrativa. Cada personaje es vital y querrás saber acerca de él, por qué hace lo que hace y por qué es quién es. Hay algunos que son súper entrañables y si duras mucho sin verlo, de seguro sentirás que lo extrañas, ya sea un personaje cómico o calculador, de verdad se sienten reales y se dan a extrañar.
The truth is that the adaptation to the anime looks pretty good and has a beautiful soundtrack, but if we see the script and how they develop the plot it feels like everything is very fast, they do not give enough time for everything to fit into the story ruining how it unfolds, they wanted to do everything so fast to fit into the 13 chapters they were given. The worst thing happens when they also change small things of the manhwa, changing with them the character's emotions, making them lose their essence, including the fact that they reveal things before time, making them lose their grace. If you haven't read the manhwa you may never realize these details, so you can enjoy it without any problem but if you want a more complete experience, where they explain even more things, you should really read the manhwa. The anime skips over and modifies things that are vital to the plot, although it may come to pass as a decent adaptation.
La verdad que la adaptación al anime luce en cuanto animación bastante bien y cuenta con una hermosa banda sonora, pero si vemos el guión y cómo desarrollan la trama se siente como si todo fuera muy rápido, no dan el suficiente tiempo para que todo se vaya amoldando a la historia arruinando el cómo se desenvuelve, quisieron hacer todo tan de prisa para que cupieran en los 13 capítulos que les dieron. Lo peor pasa cuando también cambian pequeñas cosas del manhwa, cambiando con ellos las emociones del personaje, haciendo que pierdan su esencia, incluyendo el hecho de que revelan cosas antes de tiempo, haciendo que pierda la gracia. Si no has leído el manhwa es posible que nunca te vayas a dar cuenta de éstos detalles, así que puedes disfrutarlo sin ningún problema pero si quieres una experiencia más completa, dónde te explican aún más cosas, en serio debes leerte el manhwa. El anime se salta y modifica cosas que son vitales para la trama, aunque quizás llega a pasar como una adaptación decente.

La adaptación peca de cometer varios errores que quizás no notes si eres alguien que está comenzando a ver esta obra y comienza por el anime, así que quizás no haya problema con eso, y si tienes en cuenta la excelente animación y banda sonora se hace un producto de verdad de media calidad. En cuanto a el manhwa es algo que podríamos considerar como una obra maestra o magistral.
