Hoy no les traigo una reseña, por lo que no hablare sobre que me parecen los personajes, la dirección ni habrá una calificación al final, esto será mas que nada un análisis a una película con un trasfondo... pues... Nekojiru-sou es un cortometraje de 2001 dirigido por Tatsuo Sato. Esta película surrealista sigue a Nyako y Nyatta, personajes de la mangaka “Nekojiru”. Que aparecieron por primera vez en el número de junio de 1990 de la revista mensual Garo. El manga eran cortos de un humor bastante… oscuro, era algo así como el South Park de Japón, solo que es vez de ser niños groseros que reaccionan a la locura del pueblo, estos gatos son la principal fuente de dolor y sufrimiento hacia los demás, pero en esta película obtienen un rol distinto.

Nekojiru-sou is a 2001 short film directed by Tatsuo Sato. This surrealistic film follows Nyako and Nyatta, characters from the mangaka "Nekojiru". They first appeared in the June 1990 issue of the monthly magazine Garo. The manga were shorts of a rather... dark humor, it was kind of like Japan's South Park, only instead of being rude kids reacting to the madness of the town, these cats are the main source of pain and suffering towards others, but in this movie they get a different role.

Nyako yace muy enferma en su habitación. Por accidente, su hermano menor Nyatta se ahoga en la bañera y, mientras está clínicamente muerta, ve a su hermana salir de la casa de la mano de la Jizou (guía salvador de las almas condenadas al infierno) y los sigue. Intenta arrebatarle a su hermana a Jizou, pero éste se aferra a ella. Nyako se parte en dos dejando a Jizou con la mitad de su alma mientras su hermano huye con la otra mitad. Jizou envía una pista sobre una flor que deben buscar para recuperar la otra mitad. El padre de Nyatta lo encuentra en la bañera y lo revive. Toda la familia se reúne donde yace Nyako fallecida. Nyatta repone la mitad del alma en su cuerpo, haciéndola despertar pero en un estado zombificado. Los hermanos son enviados por su madre a buscar tofu frito. En el camino, asisten a un Circo en el que, además de actuar el mismísimo Dios matando y reviviendo a su asistente, también aparece un pájaro gigante e hinchado que contiene varias nubes que, debido a la incompetencia de sus domadores, la hacen reventar provocando un diluvio.
Nyako is very sick in her room. Jizou sends a clue about a flower they must search for to retrieve the other half. Nyatta's father finds him in the bathtub and revives him. The whole family gathers where Nyako lies deceased. Nyatta replaces half of the soul in her body, causing her to awaken but in a zombified state. The siblings are sent by their mother to fetch fried tofu. On the way, they attend a Circus in which, in addition to performing the God himself killing and reviving his assistant, also appears a giant and swollen bird containing several clouds that, due to the incompetence of its tamers, make it burst causing a deluge.
Los hermanos se refugian en un arca con un cerdo, al que se comen sacando trozos precortados sin que este oponga resistencia. El dios sostiene el mundo para drenar el agua, dejando a los tres perdidos en un desierto. Nyatta golpea al cerdo para que lo lleve a el y su hermana arrastrándose hasta morir a golpes, no sin antes arranca el brazo a Nyatta de un mordisco. Los hermanos llegan con una fabricante de muñecas para coser su brazo, huyen tan pronto como se dan cuenta que los “hijos” en cunas de la señora son cadáveres armados con restos de otros niños. Viajando a través del desierto, son invitados a entrar por un hombre a su mansión. El hombre, el cual presenta claras tendencias sadistas, le da de comer a los gatos para engordarlos y posteriormente intentar hacerlos parte de su sopa, atacándolos con unas tijeras. Acaba cayendo en el caldero, Nyatta lo encierra dentro y escapa junto a su hermana. Vagando por el desierto deshidratado, Nyatta excava y encuentra un elefante hecho de agua, que los enfría y viaja con ellos, aunque el elefante acaba evaporándose por el calor, siendo otra victima de su egoísmo.

Traveling through the desert, they are invited by a man to enter his mansion. The man, who exhibits clear sadistic tendencies, feeds the cats to fatten them up and later tries to make them part of his soup by attacking them with a pair of scissors. He ends up falling into the cauldron, Nyatta locks him inside and escapes with his sister. Wandering through the desert dehydrated, Nyatta digs and finds an elephant made of water, which cools them and travels with them, although the elephant ends up evaporating due to the heat, being another victim of they
selfishness.

The television program also disappears leaving only static. Nyatta returns and finds that everyone has disappeared. Outside, the nearby street lamp goes out leaving the house in darkness, and finally the movie "goes out" as well.
Como ya se habrán dado cuenta, la película llega a ser bastante trágica, tanto en lo literal como en lo simbólico, y es que se nota que Nekojiru tenía una visión particular de la vida que se refleja en esta obra que muestra su visión del egoísmo, la explotación de los recursos, y la violencia humana, todo esto durante la aventura de dos gatitos que quizá ni ocurrió en la realidad, sino que desde el circo hasta la recuperación de Nyako pudo solo ocurrir en alguna especie de limbo, por lo que esto esta lejos de ser los simples lloriqueos de un emo, esta obra es el desahogo de alguien genuinamente deprimida además de padecer un trastorno del cual no se tiene mucha información pero se presume que era bipolar. Por ello el final de la película puede considerase como la representación de como su mente se apago y con ello haciendo desaparecer todo lo que a creado. Si no sabes a que me refiero, siento decirte que la artista Chiyomi Hashiguchi "Nekojiru" se suicido el 10 de mayo de 1998, tres años antes de que esta película fuera estrenada... Con este ultimo dato me despido, ciao.
