"Tenacity"

When we look at plants around us, for example, it is difficult to pull out weeds. When you try to cut a tree branch, it is hard to cut. We feel such tenacity. Similarly, when I look at nature as a whole, I see a variety of living things that are persistent and tenacious. I drew this picture to express such tenacity. However, no matter how tenacious they are, there are many creatures whose numbers have decreased or become extinct due to changes in the environment by humans. I don't think we should take advantage of the tenacity of nature and destroy it.

「粘り強さ」
ミクストメディア、38x45.5cm、2021
身近な植物などを見ても、例えば草を抜こうと思ってもなかなか抜けない。木の枝を切ろうと思ってもなかなか切れない。そんな粘り強さを感じます。同様に自然全体を見ても、様々な生き物がしぶとく、粘り強く生きていると思います。この絵はそういう粘り強さを表現したくて描いた絵です。しかしいくら粘り強いと言っても、人間が環境を変化させたことにより数が減ったり絶滅した生き物もたくさんいます。自然の粘り強さに甘えて自然を壊してしまってはいけないのだと思います。
