"Radio Wave Propagation"

I was very interested in radio wave before. Radio broadcasting, amateur radio, and professional radio. At night, I could hear broadcasts not only from all over Japan but also from overseas, and I imagined the state of the country. I listened to the vacuum tube radio my father picked up first, and then I listened to the radio cassette recorder where I could listen to shortwave broadcasting. But I stopped listening to it when I was busy studying for the entrance exam.
10 years have passed since then. Maybe because radio waves are used for various things now, shortwave broadcasting is a little hard to hear. Most international broadcasts use Internet radio now.
By the way, since I connect the net with UQ WiMAX, I use radio waves (2.4 GHz band).
Come to think of it, I remember being surprised to hear the community FM stations in Osaka when I was listening to FM radio alone at my father's last home in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture. I wonder why I heard that so much. It was a fine afternoon.

「電波伝搬」

昔は電波というものにとても興味がありました。ラジオ放送とか、アマチュア無線とか、業務用無線とか。夜になると日本全国のみならず海外からの放送が聞こえてきてその国の様子を想像したものです。最初は父が拾ってきた真空管ラジオで、それから短波放送を聴くことができるラジカセで熱心に聴いていました。でも受験勉強が忙しくなると聴かなくなりました。
あれから数十年。今は様々なものに電波が使われているからか、短波放送は少し聞き取りにくくなりました。いまはほとんどの国際放送がインターネットラジオを使っていますね。
ちなみに私はネットをUQ WiMAXでつないでいますから、電波（2.4GHz帯）を使っていることになります。
そういえば、父が最後に住んでいた兵庫県西宮市の家でひとりでＦＭラジオを聴いていたら、大阪のコミュニティＦＭ局が聞こえてきたのにはびっくりしたのを今でも覚えています。あれはなぜここまで聞こえてきたのだろうと思います。よく晴れた昼下がりのことでした。
