S.Nicolino is an ancien place near the small medioeval town of Morrovalle, in the Marche. It is on the sweet hill between the Sibillini montains and the Adriatic sea. It is a magical place a forgotten and lost land, where peace reigns.
S.Nicolino è un antico luogo nei pressi del piccolo comune medioevale di Morrovalle, nelle Marche. Si trova sulla dolce collina tra i monti Sibillini e il mare Adriatico. È un luogo magico, una terra dimenticata e sperduta, dove regna la pace.
When I was child I lived in a village near the church of S.Nicolino.This church is part of a 16th century villa. In the spring we child with our teachers always walked to this wonderfull place, where we could play safely, to eat and observed the nature. We did outdoor school it was a lot fun and educational. In the summer however, peasant feasts were organized and we went with our family.
We were humble people without pretensions, being together was many important to us. Men often played cards or the game of bowls, organized tournaments and could win ham and sausages. Women always talked to each other about theyr problems – women’s talk – for me at the tima very boring. We ate a lot and we child played obsolete games as hide and seek, hopscotch, jump the rope, volleyball etc. simple but very happy times !!!
Da bambina abitavo in un paesino vicino alla chiesa di S.Nicolino, parte di una villa del XVI secolo. In primavera noi bambini con le nostre maestre andavamo sempre a piedi in questo posto meraviglioso, dove potevamo giocare tranquillamente, mangiare e osservare la natura. Facevamo scuola all'aperto ed era molto divertente ed educativo. D'estate invece venivano organizzate feste contadine e noi andavamo con la nostra famiglia.
Eravamo persone umili senza pretese, stare insieme era molto importante per noi. Gli uomini giocavano spesso a carte o al gioco delle bocce, organizzavano tornei e potevano vincere prosciutti ed insaccati. Le donne invece parlavano sempre dei loro problemi - discorsi di donne - per me all'epoca molto noiosi. Si mangiava molto e noi bambini facevamo giochi ormai obsoleti come nascondino, campana, salto con la corda, pallavolo ecc. Tempi semplici ma molto felici !!!
There is a legend in this place,we children were often told. It is said that in ancient times a miracle took place in these places. The S.Nicolino’s miracle.
A shepherd child was with his sheep in a field,near a small river where animals drank, but there wasn’t water. The child and his sheep were thirsty, had walked a lot, they were tired and thirsty, without drinking they could not go home.
The child was desperate and was crying, he didn’t know what to do. It was almost evening when suddenly a strange figure appeared to him emanating light. Immediately the child was afraid then calmed down. Near him a small river appeared and he and the sheep could to drink. He was S.Nicola da Tolentino.
C'è una leggenda in questo luogo, a noi bambini veniva spesso raccontata. Si narra che anticamente sia avvenuto un miracolo in questi luoghi. Il miracolo di S.Nicolino.
Un pastorello era con le sue pecore in un campo, vicino a un piccolo fiume dove gli animali bevevano, ma non c'era acqua. Il bambino e le sue pecore avevano sete, avevano camminato molto, erano stanchi e assetati, senza bere non potevano tornare a casa.
Il bambino era disperato e piangeva, non sapeva cosa fare. Era quasi sera quando all'improvviso gli apparve una strana figura molto luminosa. Immediatamente il bambino ebbe paura, poi si calmò. Vicino a lui apparve un piccolo fiume e lui e le pecore potevano bere. Era S.Nicola da Tolentino.
After this episode this place became famous in the area, then the river became a fountain where all the animals went to drink. Over the centuries it became the property of the Papal State. In the 500s they built a church dedicated to the saint and a residence. Now it is a private propriety and is became a wonderfull marriage location.
Dopo questo episodio questo luogo divenne famoso nella zona, poi il fiume divenne una fontana dove tutti gli animali andavano ad abbeverarsi. Nel corso dei secoli divenne proprietà dello Stato Pontificio. Nel '500 costruirono una chiesa dedicata al santo e una residenza. Ora è una proprietà privata ed è diventata una splendido luogo per matrimoni.
As a fellow citizen and artist, the recent I was called by manager for to restore and paint the church altar. I was honored to have been able to work in these places dear to me.
Before starting the work I did a lot od studies for the realization of the painting.
Da concittadino e artista, recentemente sono stato chiamato dal gestore per restaurare e dipingere l'altare della chiesa. Sono stato onorato di aver potuto lavorare in quei luoghi a me cari.
Prima di iniziare il lavoro ho fatto molti studi per la realizzazione del dipinto.
As you can see, I first restored the old plaster frame which was crumbling,then with a lot pacience I recostructed some missing pieces.
Come potete vedere ho prima restaurato la vecchia cornice in gesso che si stava sgretolando, poi con molta pazienza ho ricostruito alcuni pezzi mancanti.
Then I made the painting with oil colors on wood.
Poi ho realizzato il dipinto con colori ad olio su tavola.
A classical painting second indication of the owner. I must say that the result is quite austere. It looks almost ancient.

Un dipinto classico secondo indicazione del proprietario. Devo dire che il risultato è abbastanza austero. Sembra quasi antico.
