Forest

Forest.JPG

'Forest', 80cm x 60cm, oil on canvas

I started this painting a few years ago while studying with Laurence Caruana at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art but only got around to adding the finishing touches a few weeks ago.
After a painting has been left in the corner of the studio for a while it can sometimes be difficult to reconnect to the intention and motivation that was moving it forward. On the other hand coming back to an old painting can allow you to see it with fresh eyes and bring a new perspective to it. I often feel that unfinished work is always using up bandwidth in the back of my mind and to call a painting finished and let go of it frees up space for new things to emerge.

Thank you for looking! What does the image evoke in you?
