Finally some work that gives you lot of satisfaction. For past few days have been messing up paintings. This one is about 90% error free.
This painting is based on a picture from Izmir, Turkey. I am sending this for a competition so had to paint from their preset pics. Subject is light and shadows with summer sun.
Felt this can be a good painting.
Sketch
There are buildings in perspective with the bright like behind. Most of the foreground is in shadows. There is a stone building far to the left and one with bright white wall on left.
Key here is to get the perspective correct in the sketch. There are two interesting objects, a blue barrel and a pot in shade. The image in camera doesn't capture the colour but an artist can. So this has to be done better will add to the beauty of the painting.
Process
Started with the far green hills and a very pale blue sky. Since it's bright it can't be too blue towards the far end. Followed by the bushes near the house.
Next is painting the near house and it's window.. the blue barrel in which the plants were dried.. I made it a beautiful pink Bougainville. And the other pot a green bushy plant.
Painted the trees next.
Now the shadows fell to be bit too dull .. it had to be darker to bring the light into focus. So added one more layer to it making it richer and darker.
