Yesterday I started to to paint a picture of rain as part of my assignment. I chose this beautiful picture from Flickr for reference.

Had to make more changes.. the pic shows crowded city with cars and lights .. might end up too much for me . I love more clear space in my painting.. so I simplified it keeping few people. The lamp post was beautiful so I had to keep that too .. as for the street lights I moved them to fit in my composition.
So my sketch was way different from the reference.
While coloring I chose to keep the dress red.. it was too dark in the reference, I made it better and to match the dress I used Opera pink umbrella.. may be too bright for a rainy day pic but it doesn't matter for me . I wanted it brighter 😁

Flowed Payne's grey with little ultramarine and violet for the background to buld up distant shapes and green for the trees... And then it happened.. we lost power. So I had to abandon it for the day and continue it today.
