My First Art Exhibition (Pencil Sketches)

Nepal, one with the beauty of nature. The nature, weather and people out here are all amazing just like the view you will see every morning from the top here.

But, this nature faced a threatening and heartbreaking experience on April 25, 2015, as it was hit by a severe earthquake of magnitude 7.8. The epicenter of the earthquake was a place named Barpak situated at the top of a hill in Gorkha district. It suffered more than we know and more than we can even imagine. There were a total of 1400 homes in the village that were all identical and gave a strong message of unity in the village. But sadly, due to the earthquake every single one of these homes were destroyed.

Now, even though the village has been rebuilt, things aren’t the same. As homes are now built with modern tools and techniques, the meaning and the feeling of the home has changed for the people of the village.

And, as I mentioned, there was an ongoing project called “ghar”, being undertaken by my senior. It aims to show the true significance of the word home. I was offered an opportunity to work on this project as an artist. And, so I have made few artworks related to the topic.
