Saludos hivers. Hoy decidí retomar mis ilustraciones al 100%, gracias a todo el arte que veo en OCA y otras comunidades; también al movimiento que se ha generado en mi comunidad, donde todos están expresando su creatividad a través del dibujo.
Lo que haré, será convertir mis fotografías en ilustraciones. Quiero unir dos grandes pasiones, la primera la tuve olvidada mucho tiempo y también en esta plataforma me motivé a retomarla. Las ilustraciones y dibujos son una actividad que amo hacer pero que abandoné poco después de terminar mis estudios como diseñador gráfico. No importa porque estoy aquí de nuevo y HIVE me permite usar mi tiempo para eso.

La técnica usada fue la acuarela. Con unas hojas que conseguí, que aunque no son especiales para eso, me dio un buen soporte.
Lo primero que se hace en acuarela es curar el papel (algo que no mostré en las fotos). Con el pincel humedo con agua, se le pasa a toda la superficie para que las fibras se preparen para recibir la acuarela, que será mucha, mucha agua 😁
The technique used was watercolor. With some leaves I got, which although not special for that, gave me a good support.
The first thing you do in watercolor is to cure the paper (something I didn't show in the photos). With the brush moistened with water, you pass the whole surface so that the fibers are prepared to receive the watercolor, which will be much, much water 😁
Después si viene lo mismo que en toda ilustración y que para mí es la parte aburrida de todo. Aunque no me gusta hay que hacerlo para poder tener referencia y guía de lo que se hace. Es dibujar el esqueleto de nuestro arte. Yo lo hago con un lápiz HB sin afincar mucho e intento dibujar la mayor cantidad de detalles, incluso algunas sombras para tener su posición.
Then if it comes the same as in every illustration and that for me is the boring part of everything. Although I don't like it, you have to do it in order to have reference and guidance of what you are doing. It's drawing the skeleton of our art. I do it with an HB pencil without much sharpening and I try to draw as much detail as possible, even some shadows to have its position.

Once we get the skeleton in pencil, the fun begins. First I look for the largest area to start with and also the one with the lightest color. It is always better to start from the lightest to the darkest and finally the black that will give you the intensity and definition.
Una vez que ya tuve las bases de la acuarela, comencé con los detalles. Sobre todo esa parte de arriba que dejé casi al final porque quería primero soltar mi mano oxidada por 25 años sin pintar.
Lo que está arriba de esta dona bañada de Nutella, es arroz inflado y cubierto con chocolate blanco (una delicia 😋) Por esa forma particular y que son blancos, le veía mucha dificultad, pero siento que me quedaron bien.
Once I had the basics of watercolor, I started with the details. Especially that top part which I left almost at the end because I wanted first to let go of my rusty hand for 25 years without painting.
What is on top of this Nutella-coated donut is puffed rice covered with white chocolate (a delight 😋). Because of that particular shape and that they are white, I saw a lot of difficulty, but I feel that they fit.
Ya teniendo completo toda la acuarela, le di el último toque, pintando el fondo para que el arroz inflado se notara más.
Having completed the watercolor, I gave it the final touch, painting the background so that the puffed rice would be more noticeable.
Como último paso busqué los creyones de acuarela y dar unos toques al arroz que le faltaban. También usé los creyones para el negro en algunas zonas y el blanco para dar algunos brillos de luz.
As a last step I looked for the watercolor crayons and gave a few touches to the missing rice. I also used the crayons for the black in some areas and the white to give some light.

Seguro notarás mucha diferencia en la intencidad del color. Mi intención no era llegar a eso, porque sino, no habría usado acuarela. Solo quiero practicar mucho esta técnica con alimento, sabiendo que no obtendré colores tan vivos.
