Ciao Beautiful Creative Beings!
I'd love to know where you show your work - if you make physical Artwork and show it in a physical place?
This is an old stable in my Italian Arthouse: it opens onto a beautiful wee Via, and I've run multifarious pop-up events there... Having been very isolated these past years, not just from lock-down, but from increasing censorship of my Art - there suddenly feels to be a huge up-welling force for Connection and Visibility right now - I'm cleaning up the room, painting the walls, and preparing some paintings for showing at a small art-wine-music-birth-day party on Saturday.
My favourite 'exhibition' spaces are Artist homes.
Showing one's Art in the context in which it is Lived, is a profoundly different - LIVING - experience, compared to showing in 'galleries'. The latter bring the Art into the real/ 'jurisdiction' of 'the art world', which for the most part has almost entirely perverted and inverted the Real Meaning Of Art.
Over the several decades I've worked as an Artist, I've shown in many ex-churches, homes, castles, village halls... tents! I love variety and unusual-ness in showing the Art - spaces that bring out the Life of the Work/ add to it, rather than boxing it or taking it out of context.
Blessings to All,
:Clare
