Adding Natural Dyes to Oatmeal

Oatmeal is always acceptable to my stomach compared to rice in the morning. But the thing is, oatmeal often bores me.

Usually, I will cook oatmeal with brown sugar and it's not boring. This time I have no brown sugar. I'm looking for a way to serve oatmeal that I haven't tried before.

How about oatmeal cooked in Butterfly Pea Flower Water? Aha! Good idea. Indeed, Butterfly Pea Flower Water only adds color but does not taste.

To add to the sweetness, here I add a yellow watermelon which is sweet and crispy, fresh.

Yellow Watermelon

How to make

1. Step 1

Make Butterfly Pea Flower water first. We can use flowers that are still fresh or dried. Use about a handful and then soak in 150 ml of hot water.

2. Step 2

While waiting for the Butterfly Pea Flower water to be ready to use, I prepared yellow watermelon as a topping. I made a yellow watermelon into a round shape with a fruit spoon.

3. Step 3

Cook the oats with butterfly pea flower water. No need to stir. Leave it until it is completely absorbed.

The result looks like rice. :)

4. Step 4

Arrange the oats in a serving bowl. Then add the toppings. Ready to be served.

How do you think my breakfast will look like this time? Enough to lift the mood, right?
