The Baldie Challenge - A Chance at Redemption

Upon arriving at the target system, a choice has to be made.
(See original briefing here)
Colonize a water world, a desolate moon, or a small asteroid. We choose to embark on the water world. Since we miraculously survived the onslaught at Tauri Station, why not do a roll call.

The captain is here, of course. He will act as our leader until the Columbus can come and pick us up. He also managed to squeeze in one more officer into our roster, for a total of 4!

Pirate Crew.png

We have the popular and charismatic Norah, a communications officer, a security officer, and a squad leader who is an old friend of the captain's from his criminal days (he's turned over a new leaf now). This diverse group is skilled in things like diplomacy, conversation, and even a little shooting and violence because you never know.

As for crew, the ship only had enough room for 2: a Triskan Fighter and myself, a space surgeon. The Triskan's planetary skills will come in handy. They know how to live and survive on godforsaken worlds. However, I believe my skills are going to prove the most valuable. What if we crash land? What if there are infectious diseases? What if we get attacked by aliens? No one else here has a medical degree so I'll be the only one able to patch people up!

Baldie passengers.png

Our two passengers are accounted for. One is a tech expert whose mechanics skills are going to prove almost as vital as my skills! He we be putting together the prefabs and making sure they don't deteriorate. The other passenger...I can't tell if he's really smart or really dumb. Hopefully he pulls his weight, and if not then maybe we can eat him... Haha! Only joking! (But not really.)

Now it's time for inventory. (Its a good thing this is a small ship!) Luckily, our scans tell us that our new watery home has a decent atmosphere. The water, however, is likely salty or full of pathogens at best. That's why we'll be getting our water from the WHC unit we're packing, and it'll also provide the power necessary for the TOM Custom. The TR20 generator will power the Foodie-Moodie.

That's all we can carry. I have a feeling this ocean world is prone to hurricanes and other natural disasters. Hopefully no damage will be caused that the techie can't handle. When we run out of food, which we will, the Triskan should be able to hunt for food. Had we more space for extra equipment, I would have advised the captain to land on the asteroid but alas...
This is Nam Gorland, space surgeon, signing off.
