Nature Walk Kirkcaldy Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hello Hello Hivians and fellow travellers.

If you are in the Northern Hemisphere and like me then you will really get affected by the dark, the lack of sun and the short days in winter and early spring too.

So when on Sunday morning we had a blue sky with a hint of sun, and Mrs T wander in from the bedroom and said let's go for a nature walk, I was up and packing the animal food into my back pack and out the door before you could say Wednesday Walk!

Wrap up warm and let's go!

This was from the morning of Sunday 3rd March 2024.

I am not sure about you, but here we had a pretty grey, quite wet and dark February.

The colours were so vivid, it was like tripping on acid, the greens well just wait till you see the wild garlic leaves!

Sods law of course would mean that clouds would appear to blot out the sun!

Which was fine as we took some time to feed the ducks and swans etc.

Bob and Brad the mad Mallard twins spotted us and came hurtling over!

Meanwhile Thelma (whilst looking at the antics of Bob and Brad) the female Tafted Duck was doing her best Queen Victoria impresssion "We are not amused".

You can see the seagulls by the island. The hardest job feeding the ducks and coots is making sure the seagulls get none.

This is easy enough then the swans are around as the gulls are feart of the big swans!

Talking of swans have you seen how big ours are?

image.png

They make the human look small!

image.png

That is him away to check on the swan boats!

The one great thing about the park is that going through it leads to so many different trails in the woods that we can take.

image.png

I won't do any more bird pics as I will make a separate post about that.

However we did pop into the Peace garden where we feed the smaller birds, and just look at this handsome wee chappy!

The male robin is a looker that is for sure!

image.png

The fountain was fenced off and on closer inspection they had replaced the liner.

However, we had a walk to get back to.

Interestingly I found that there were not many flowers blooming at all.

After seeing the crocuses in town the week before I was surprised to see hardly any flowers blooming in the park.

image.png

These daffodils being the exception!

image.png

I do love signs and there is a wee orchard in the park and they try to tell people what is around them.

image.png

You can see the sunlight illuminating things and the mud hehe!

image.png

Wild garlic has the most wonderful smell and it is the green leaves that you use. It is all around us.

It is not just wild garlic that is all around us....

image.png

There is no turning back and that is going up hill and our trainers have no grip haha, yeah we were in such a hurry to get out that we wore completely inappropriate footwear!

image.png

One thing the rains have done is expose these stones. Which on closer inspection look like part of a wall...

What do you think?

image.png

If you know me and my walks then you know I love water!

image.png

And today is no exception, although it is fresh and not saltwater this time...

image.png

We got some clear sky now.

image.png

image.png

The sun showing us how green everything is.

image.png

The naked trees, it won't be long before leaves are back and this will look much darker with the fully clothed trees.

image.png

I do love the fallen tree covered in moss now.

image.png

image.png

We walk up that hillside in the summer and it looks totally different. The field has been planted and it will be wheat in summer.

image.png

Some of you might recognise this white horse from one of my walks. Often he is on the way to Raith Lake when we see him.

image.png

The sunshine even gets kids out with their parents.

image.png

image.png

I had to show you how artificial a green colour the wild garlic looks!

image.png

Can you see the Easter bunny through the trees.

He snuck off before I could get him in focus!

image.png

I just love a blue sky, it makes everything look so pretty, and certainly lifts my mood.

image.png

This particular trails ends up and the end of the Kirkcaldy Golf Course.

image.png

Can you guess what this golfer is about to do?

image.png

Hehe he played his shot into the water, so that is him trying to fetch his ball.

If there were people behind him then he would not be doing this.

He must have been about the first person on the course though as it was still early morning!

image.png

image.png

Mrs T wanted me to take an artsy pic!

image.png

Of course who am I to disagree!

image.png

We finished up going past the local rugby club and there was some game going on.

Thanks for popping in!

image.png

This post is also my first March 2024 walk for #wednesdaywalk which was started by the wonderful @tattoodjay.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day!
