Sometimes you can read in the weather forecast "variable cloudiness", and it was a day with nothing but variable cloudiness. The cloudiness was very beautifully distributed across the sky, but created some difficulty in choosing a moment to photograph, because if the sun disappeared the landscape immediately began to look bleak.
I decided to take a walk in Catherinehof Park and the low-rise residential neighborhoods adjacent to it on this day. I crossed the Obvodny Canal and approached one of the entrances to the park. The interesting thing about this place is that there is a mock-up of Alexander's Column. This column is called Molvinskaya. It is very similar to the famous column on Palace Square, only much smaller.
When I entered the park, the sun had once again hidden in the clouds, and the landscape began to seem gloomy. Soon I was admiring blue skies and beautiful reflections again.
It may seem that the trees are completely bare and that spring has not yet begun, but if you get closer and tilt your head up, you can see that the leaves have already appeared, but they haven't had time to fully bloom.
After my walk in the park, I decided to walk through the nearby residential neighborhood.
It may seem strange, but spring walks through this residential neighborhood can be more pleasant than walks through the park. The neighborhood was developed in the first half and middle of the 20th century with two- and three-story houses. Although the architecture of such buildings is rather standard, they look cozy and nice.
In the yards of buildings grows a lot of fruit trees, they remind us that before the advent of the city there was an ordinary village life, there were wooden houses, around them there were gardens with apples, pears, cherries, plums and bird cherries.
Very soon all these trees would be covered with clouds of white and pink flowers and this place would seem magical. until that time came, I admired the first flowers in the front gardens. Some of the beds have only had time to grow their first leaves, but others, in sunnier areas, are already beginning to bloom.
