Hello fellow bloggers!
I am happy to share my trip to this beautiful forest oasis, located near my home town. Long walks through the nature are among my favourite activities, and this #wednesdaywalk was not the exception.
Almost everyone who comes Golubinjak is left breathless by a big green clearing surrounded by tall coniferous trees that soar high above the white rocks, all on a 51-hectare property.
Golubinjak was designated as a protected park-forest by the State Secretariat for National Economic Affairs on March 24, 1955.
Hiking trails lead through a forest of beech, fir and spruce placed on stone blocks. While walking through the forest you can se unreal and beautiful trees, glistening steep cliffs in parts covered with moss and cold caves.
Forest fruits that are found in Golubinjak forest and in the whole Gorski kotar county are: wild strawberries, blueberries, currants, raspberries, blackberries, cranberries.
With the first signs of autumn in Gorski Kotar, a real mushroom fever develops, because at that time there are the most types of edible mushrooms. They have long been an important food for the people in Gorski kotar and the basis of many local dishes, even today.
Mushrooms are certainly an ornament of nature, but also a first-class food. They have long been considered part of the plant world, only to gain their special microbiological kingdom based on modern science, which, by sharing with bacteria, algae and molds, they occupy the line of life between plants and animals.
This amazing photo shows a mushroom growing from a tree. She is covered with water droplets.
Walking through the forest, you will come across the big stone formation called Hell's Gate - a gate in a rock four meters wide, five meters thick and eight meters high. It is truly an amazing thing to see this formation live.
A walk in the woods strengthens immunity, unleashes creativity and overwhelms us with a feeling of complete happiness and inner peace. Staying in nature has renewed my energy, and observing the natural beauties in me evokes a sense of admiration.
This piece of art represents a "Ballerina" and it was placed there in year 1987.
This statue represents a "Stairway to the sky" and it is placed there in year 2009.
Details of the so-called Royal Fir are written on this sign. It is 1.42 m in diameter, 42 m in height, 4.43 m in circumference and 32.80 m in cubic capacity. She is about 226 years old.
The ticket for the park-forest is only 20kn, or about 3 euros, and as you can see for now, it is worth the money.
There are a lot of fallen trees in the forest that are intact, left to nature to take care of, away from the noise of big cities. In one word; wonderful. One tree gave its life so it can one day become part of the earth from which another tree would grow.
It is fascinating for me to see rock formations erupting in the middle of the forest, it is interesting how nature forms such formations, in the most unusual places, so strange, but so natural.
I can not explain this photo. It seemed to me as a fruit growing from a leaf, however weird it may sound. If anyone knows what it is, please tell me.
The mystery of the spider web is one of the wonders of the animal world, and it is less known how spiders actually create this fascinating creation. From those for catching prey, storing food, courting females to floating threads, the silk that spiders create is not without reason declared the strongest and most elastic substance in the world.
These several photographs show statues exhibited on a large green plateau in Golubinjak, which unfortunately I do not know the name of, or when they were placed there.
I saved best (or should I say sweetest) photo for last. Someone near the village of Lokve made this beautiful small garden houses, that look absolutely gorgeous.
Isn't it beautiful?
Unfortunately, my wednesday walk post needs to end here. I hope that you liked my photos, and that you are all well.
And a quote to finish things of:
"For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver."
-Martin Luther King Jr.
Like always, take care and have a beautiful and amazing week!
