Afternoon Snack at Island Vue Oslob

A few days ago, we decided to get some afternoon snacks while in Oslob. My sister-in-law suggested we check out Island Vue. This is a little bit far from the house but we complied. This is a chill spot, the owner of the restaurant or cafe is also the owner of the tourist boats for Sumilon Island.

But before we headed there, we stopped by Gaisano Grand Oslob as I needed to buy some essentials at Watsons.

Gaisano Grand had opened last December 2020 amidst the pandemic. Almost a year after, the mall has been a great help to the locals as they don't have to travel far to buy their necessities. I also feel like we were in the city whenever we go inside the mall.

These were the items that I bought. In fact, the only thing that I was supposed to buy was a Cetaphil soap for my baby boy but I ended up buying three more.

I was surprised as well as it was my first time to see a coin Php 20. I showed it to my husband and he said he already had some of those coins before but he spent it without showing it to me.

Anyway, after that, we then headed to Island Vue. It took a few minutes before we reached there.

They got a free parking space which was good. There were a few people around, they were Tagalog speaking so I guess they were guests waiting for their time to go home or to go to Sumilon Island. I can't quite figure it out but at the back of my mind, I was contemplating why they were not wearing their masks.

Also, do you find something strange about their welcome sign?

While the staff was headed on the way in our direction, I tried to take some shots of the restaurant. In the photo above, you will see some signage. What caught my attention though was the slippers and the water container behind this spot. The water container was of clay, an old item of a common Filipino household. Today, only a few families had preserved these kinds of water containers.

There are many seats available, but we opted for this recycled tire dining set and I really like sitting here. The seats would somehow be adjusted to our posture and it's soft!

The owner also has diving equipment for rent and tourist boats so they have many posters outside sharing the information to others.

At the part facing the ocean, the kids tried to make some cute photos but Matti was too distracted with the pillows.

Matti's very comfortable here. But he was teething that's why he was just placed in a towel when he came inside.

Then we ordered some food available. There were only a few available snacks on the menu list. We ended up ordering the fries instead and some milk tea.

Filled to the brim!

I ordered Ube flavor, the sister-in-law ordered Red Velvet while my husband got himself an avocado shake.

I like how long this container was and it looked like a cone!

Caught the husband thinking something while looking at the beach.

Finally, the orders arrived! This kid, Butchoy immediately took some fries!

For me, the milk teas were not milked tea at all, they seem to just be simple shakes! The pearls were blant, so we were convinced that we were just scammed of their beauty. But then, the view was great and it was an opportunity to have something to write in a blog.

This is how the Ocean Vue looks like from afar.
