#Wednesday Walk - Taking Photos of Dogs Having Fun in Kloof Memorial Park.

This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.

If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.

Two weeks ago, we decided to meet up with the kids and the grandkids and go on a family outing to Kloof Memorial Park.

Kloof Memorial Park is situated in Kloof, a residential in the Upper Highway Area, about 30 KM west of Durban on the east coast of South Africa.

According to kloofconservancy.org.za the park was an open space with grass, trees and many invasive alien plants before 2005.

But, according to the same website, in 2005, Kloof Conservancy decided to initiate a rehabilitation project to convert the park into an indigenous habitat which would take into account the bio-diversity of the area and provide the community with a natural asset they could enjoy.

Currently, the park is popular and is frequently visited by many people. It is a safe area and popular for family activities, such as relaxing, allowing the little ones some nice open space to play and run around, or even taking the dog for a walk. Many people let the dogs loose and let them run around freely.

Today I want to share some photos of dogs, having a great time at Kloof Memorial Park.

It was a nice sunny day and reasonably warm. It was warm enough for this dog - especially after running around and having fun - to decide it was time to cool off in one of the little streams running through the park.

Let's lie down in the cool water for a while... She laid down in the perfect spot for me to get some shots...right in a spot where the sun was shining on the water, with shadows surrounding her...lol!

Okay...it's time to get up again...

And it's time for another round of running...lol!

I am a great fan of Bull-Terriers, so I could not miss this beautiful "lady in pink"...

I asked her owner if she would mind if I took a photo of this beauty, and she had no problem with it.

She was so eager to play with the other dogs, but her owner (wisely) didn't want to let her off the leash. She said the dog is still young and she can get a bit rough...lol!

There were also some smaller breeds...

...coming in pairs.

And these two little ones were eager to make friends with two big Rottweilers.

And coming back over the pedestrian bridge over the stream..."Hey! Wait for me!"

Finally, playing together in the water. The two in the shadows are not so visible, so you can easily miss them...

A typical scene during the afternoon... Families standing around or strolling around, children playing in the water (and sometimes the dogs too), and dogs having a good time running around, normally with the owner close by and in full control of the animals.

And that's it for today, folks!
