It Was Bloody Cold!

It was yet another chilly morning but quite nice in the sun. At least it wasn't raining as I walked around a few of my local villages.

Someone had left some swan food on the floor. You have to look after the wildlife. Usually, you get hissed at but they were far too interested in filling their stomachs.

Years ago, there would have been a lot of greenery in the background, but they decided to build houses on the waste land just past the cricket pitch. We've had more than our fair share of new houses, so I'm hoping the developers don't get the green light to build any more.

There weren't a lot of birds on the dam, but a flock of Canada geese landed where the ice had melted. They then proceeded to have a good wash.

The gulls looked on, staying firmly on the ice.

There was a little robin singing it's heart out at the top of the tree. When summer comes to an end, their singing will stop as this is the time robins moult so they keep a low profile due to their vulnerability. After their new feathers have grown, they will start singing again throughout the winter.

I put a handful of bird seed on the stump of the tree, hoping to photograph a few birds, but a squirrel came along instead. Oh well, as long as somebody gets fed, I don't mind.
